There is always a small chance that the proposed POSCO JV will not proceed.
However, IMO the benefits to both POSCO and PLS are somewhat overwhelming.
POSCO would lock in security of long term supply from a stable source.
PLS would achieve its objective of expanding into downstream chemical processing.
Also, a SK/Aus JV would serve as a much needed solid competitor against the current Chinese dominance in this part of the overall supply chain.
Due diligence surrounding the venture has been in play for several wears now --- all we need is a final decision.
