    I think not.

From experience, milking 350 Jerseys for factory supply ie buttermilk, mastitis is not endemic.Usually new heifers are infected, the older stock have a resistance for obvious reasons, well treated in the early stage and like flu shots the antibiotics work.

The speculation on this forum re the infection in herds that I have read today has no place in the real world of extracting milk from cows.

    In short-claptrap.

One quarter infected (or two for that matter) does not preclude unaffected milk going into the vat.

Wel managed in the first world-read into that NZ finest practice in dairying-is not the major issue that India or Bangladesh face. These people are subsistance farmers who, without first world assistance, struggle to feed their families, let alone drench!

As if they could afford the treatment.

My experience is that, like bloat, mastistis is seasonal.

Town supply,ie drinking milk is a different kettle of,well fish-lol,cos the herd is constantly on the cups.

Oxy patch for me,sorry to be a dull rage but there it is.
