Raks,speaking of laptops I have done my homework and as I type I am pulling out my hair setting up my new laptop and associated wireless system. Unfortunately I have had to go the rather expensive Telsta route as i want to travel and they are the only ones with decent national high speed coverage.
But I thought I may just put it out there for your sake that if you are really only using your laptop locally (ie sunshine coast brisbane gold coast) then maybe you should look at the vodaphone option. Coverage is crap outside that area but seems good in the SE corner. $39 for 5 gig. I got my daughter onto that one and I am thinking about dithing my home bigpond adsl ($60/month) and replacing it with the vodaphone wireless. 5 gig is close enough to unlimited for me as I'm not into downloading videos and the like.
Someone like yourself would only need one connection then for home AND the boat. All for $39/month.
