My question is they were to isolate the C17, 18 sections and test C13,14
did this happen or did they go straight into production?
Atzam #4- Testing prospective C13 and 14 carbonates to commence Testing program to immediately move to the C13 and C14 carbonate sections in Atzam #4 Considered the most prospective reservoir sections from logging evaluation by Schlumberger C13 and C14 carbonates are the main producing zones in the nearby Rubelsanto Field The Rubelsanto Field has produced over 30 mmbbl to date from 8 wells and is located only 17km to the north east of the Atzam Field Flow testing of target zones should commence within 2 weeks Lower C17 and Upper C18 carbonate sections will be isolated from this testing program Independent expert estimates Probable Reserves of 2.3m barrels of oil in Atzam #4 well - providing significant potential upgrade to the existing 2.3m bbl P1 and P2 reserve estimate on the Atzam Field.
The Company is pleased to advise that Latin American Resources (Operator) has completed a technical review on the Atzam #4 well flow testing program with Schlumberger over the past 2 weeks, with operations due to re-commence with priority on flow testing the C13 and C14 carbonates. The C13 and C14 carbonate sections in the well were considered the most prospective oil bearing reservoir units in the well based on the electric log data, and independently confirmed following review of all the well data by industry experts including Schlumberger. The Atzam #4 well has been shut in for the past 2 weeks pending completion of the technical review with Schlumberger to evaluate the operations to continue flow testing the Lower C17 / Upper C18 carbonates whilst managing the unexpected gas production, or moving to the testing program for the C13 and C14 carbonate sections. The decision was made to immediately move to test the productivity of the C13 and C14 carbonates in Atzam #4, and some potential pay zones within the C16 and C17 sections as part of the program.
