Matthew Flinders, archives & Movie/s... ... ah where to begin........
First of all, this guy was an absolute hero, the story-line & archives make great reading...
I have traced everything I can in Australian history, and quite a bit of English & French ..his story really is a classic...
My searches also discovered a movie (full length-feature) being made in England (This was in 2007-08), with French connections & locations (Mauritius), & I connected the people making the movie with SAust film Corp. mainlly because- 1/ The GFC had just hit, & the film makers ran out of Money & Investors were scarce 2/ Plans were very advanced, scripts,actors,locations & most of the story line was ready to go!
After a lot of to & fro with people such as me pushing the idea of geting a movie of the ground, ( it was the only one that was commenced)...it has remained incomplete ...
NB the plan was an Australia Day launch for 2010 or 2011 at the latest, ...a terrible shame, & I am cutting a long story v v short for the sake of this blog... But Aussies would have flocked to this movie...theres no doubt about it...
