I sit here wading through another boring day of correspondence ( nothing I own is active or being commented upon) and a weird thing comes to my mind. God help my mind. But perhaps you can help?
If I buy an option at 1 cent and sell at 11, I have profited 1000%. If I buy an option at 11 cents and sell it for 1 cent, I have lost close to 100%. Mmmm, it doesn't seem fair. In the purchase the difference was 10 cents , in the sale the difference was 10 cents, yet in percentage terms I seem to have lost significantly more in the sale than I gained in the purchase.
Please give me the Freudian explanation, or tell me where I have missed the boat.
cheers
