There is a Christian ethos that sees itself as superior to all other religions, this is the great tragedy of Christianity. One way to bolster this sense of superiority is to have a Prophet who can't be killed, who is the Son of God and indeed is God Himself. These beliefs were used as an excuse to colonise and crush other peoples and their beliefs.

Jesus literally rising physically from death serves no purpose and then what became of His physical body, did He have to die a second time? Nothing physical can enter the spiritual realm so He must have died a second time. Why did He not just stay around and continue to teach if He could cheat death? The answer is because He did not cheat physical death.

Simply put, the dead do not come back to life and that includes Jesus whose body was human and whose spirit was that of a Manifestation of God. The symbolic meaning of rising from death after three days was that after three days of grief, of feeling hopelessly lost and defeated the followers of Christ regathered themselves and began to teach as Christ had directed them to and the power of the Word of Christ was as if Christ Himself had risen from death.

I appreciate that few if Christian will accept this because it's so much ingrained as a literal account when in truth it is a spiritual and symbolic truth. The Bible is a spiritual work and rising from death is symbolic.

As for wotsup's beliefs, they in general conform to the Christian ethos. He has concentrated his energies into the Bible alone so his beliefs reflect the prevailing culture. His belief's can be found in major version of Christian belief.

The Bible does not teach a physical rising from death, it tells a story and relates a spiritual event in a narrative form. People accept it as literal because they have no concept of spiritual and literal, they are not taught from the Bible, rather they are taught by leaders of religion who are in error.
