Once upon a time, I read quite a long article on this "saved" matter verses eternal life, I should have taken a copy, all Bible backed etc.
The Key point of it was, saved and eternal life being two totally different things. Saved was effectively, you were rescued and taken under wing, so to speak and what you did with that, either did or didn't lead to eternal life.
