We have had workers come from Vanuatu for years for seasonal fruit picking due to the bone lazy Australians being paid "sit down" money as it was coined by Aboriginal leaders.

A while back on one of our Vanuatu trips a local we befriended told us his wife along with dozens of other locals had been travelling to Australia for some years to pick fruit as an additional source of income for their families.

Obviously with the Chinese virus putting a stop to International travel, this reliable labour just isn't available now...so we'll likely see good fruit just dropping to the ground to be lost.
