people are choosing to run for politics under the GOP banner to pursue their own media/social media careers

it's just a stepping stone for a plum job in any one of the far-right media putlets

pursuing a certain "political ideology" for the purpose of legislating is just a inconvenience

which goes a long way to explain why the GOP have abandoned legislation.....apart from the tax-cuts-for-the-wealthy.....of course
