Absolutely Bernard, the gas lines are privately owned, as are most of the power stations so legislating this idea will become a little hard for broke governments around the globe that will need to stump up for the extra energy capacity required by power providers to replace the gas energy,not to mention the compensation that will be demanded. Nuclear will need to be in the mix which will be even more politically unpallatable and a no go in some countries where nuclear is being phased out.
