every so now and then, watso ends up watching "the checkout" on abc tv - and a segment was devoted to mattresses.. from memory (chinese whispers running around in the brain - but the segment should be online somewhere) the same mattress was sold in different stores, with a different name and price tags ... the segment was on tv about a month ago
no wonder the likes of HN often have mattresses at 50% reduced - on special (is that the same as RTC!!!!).
watso is ashamed to admit it - but 25 years ago, watso paid $2000 for a mattress
anyway, watso was in aldi this morning, and mattresses were walking out of the door - but they were in boxes . it seems that that when the mattress is "unwrapped" - it springs into shape
$250 was mentioned as a price (or maybe it was $299)... it would be in the catalogue - but watso just asked
if watso was the marketing manager for aldi, then a blow up doll/mattress combo would have been on offer .

We have had our “bed in a box”
Mattress for a couple of years now, admittedly as a guest bed & it is very comfortable. Some friends have stayed on it for a week or so & my husband & I used it for about a month & found it great except the only complaint is because it did come out of a box the sides are not firm at all so when you sit on the edge you tend to skip off. Apart from that it is exceptional value for money
