Yes it is raglan and it's worth remembering What Sean Odwyer said about metalstorm being the only things that works in space, it will be worth a lot of money, if as Sean said it is already in commercialisation then we would be owed money perhaps?
But the thing that I believe may have also reached a point where it is about to be deployed is mach 5/50 hypervelocity technology, the DSTO finalised it's testing beyond proof of concept.
this is what they had to say about mach 5/50
(U) Early Metal Storm tasks demonstrated revolutionary weapon concepts for firing small caliber projectiles at very high rates without the need for internal moving parts. The continuing Mach 5/50 tasks extend the concepts and technologies for leap-ahead performance in tactically relevant, lightweight, medium caliber direct fire weapons. The medium caliber projectiles (50 millimeter bore) will have a minimum muzzle velocity of 1,600 meters per second (~ Mach 5) at 600 rounds per minute or greater. Mach 5/50 technology development will provide multiple services with a low-cost, reliable enabling technology to support a wide range of current/future applications including extended range combat vehicle firepower and lethality, full-spectrum future combat vehicle lethality for active protection systems, high engagement rate naval air defense,
critical fixed site defense and improved aircraft self-defense. Portions of the technology development will be conducted under an agreement with the Australian Defence Science and Technology Office.
(U) Program Plans:
- Develop medium caliber concepts, detailed performance simulations and technical analyses.
- Fabricate and test critical technology subsystems.
- Complete integration of pre-prototype components and evaluate against simulation-based interim performance parameters.
- Critical design review and complete fabrication of full-function prototype.
- Complete system test and evaluation of full function prototype and validate simulations.
- Conduct firing demonstration and deliver final report.
- Transition hardware and data packages to DoD laboratories for Service-specific engineering and platform integration.
From what I can see the DSTO completed all of the above Program Plans stated except for the last one - Transition hardware and data packages to DoD laboratories for Service-specific engineering and platform integration.
Remember that the DSTO showcased this technology in the US at DARPAtech in August 2007, that is coming up to nearly 5 years ago,now I believe that the transition must be just about or has been completed and if I am right this will be worth a lot of money.
It appears some here don't believe a takeover is coming? that is ok with me, I can live with that, but I don't happen to agree with them, if I am right it will come in the form of a capital injection to metalstorm from a US defense company, metalstorm have already flagged this,I believe it will go something like this, these monies will be used to pay for the monies owing to the convertible note holders and also to move the technology forward.
If this happens and I am correct in my thinking that they will ask for a large percentage of the company? which will require shareholder approval, a vote to allow a greater than 15% stake in the company to be made, and if this happens? then I would be very concerned at the amount of shares they are allocated for this, because if I am right and they already own a big slice of the company already? only we just don't know it yet, then our goose will be cooked!
I believe it all started with the AFHL deal which we all know now was just pure unadulterated BS, just look at the accumulation since that time, I believe it started because they actually saw that metalstorm was at a point where it was close to being able to sell something that would keep the company afloat.
I wonder how many people still really believe metalstorm or more importantly the US were about to let control of the company end up in a Filipino's hands, due diligence my ***?
Lets see if my prediction comes true?
Yes it is raglan and it's worth remembering What Sean Odwyer...
