these are studies comparing apples and oranges so you can't draw any conclusions about relative efficacy. The big problem in the pCLE study was the acquisition time - 50 seconds average with a 47 second SD - therefore some took almost 2 minutes to get an adequate image of a single lesion. The colon is 80-100 cm long! Given that a complete colonoscopy needs to be performed in 15-20 minutes to be financially viable in the US, there is no way that anyone would waste their time with a technology that takes so long in the colon.
Barrett's at least is relatively localised in its distribution so examining this would be less time-consuming. The key however, is whether CLE can reduce overall costs or improve patient outcomes. Still waiting for that data.
