Someone posted an article on this site a couple of weeks ago where the US state department was promoting African oil sources as a strategic bulwark against the middle east. The tension in the middle east and any attack on Iraq would be good for the oil price, good for African oil and good for HDR.
Personally I hope the US comes to its senses. Its bad enough for Israel to drain US taxpayers of their money, now Israel wants Americans to spill their blood as well.
