If GSK made a bid for takeover the price would rocket to multiple dollars before they were able to secure the required 90% for a forced takeover of remaining shares.
GSK know that and as such I believe unlikely to make an offer. There will be some holders willing to sell cheaply less than $2 however there will be many others to force the price sky high.
$5+ would not be out of the question if the current flu continues to spread or mutate.
GSK however could take a large stake by accumulating shares now and in that way get access to a cheap company and potentially return some of the very significant royalties they will pay out.
