Wow.
I didn't expect the move to go as far it did in the last 40 minutes of trading.
3.30pm trades totalled 643 Volume 32.3m Last trade 6.1
3.30 - 3.59.59pm trades = 132 Volume 6.6m last trade 6.3
In auction 4.00pm to 4.10pm trades = 54 Volume 1.8m last trade 6.5
i.e. after 3.30pm trades = 22% of whole day's
auction trades = 54% of all trades since 3.30pm and 6.5% of whole day's
IMO these are significant stats to keep in mind on Open tomorrow. A chart post by @Patterns later tonight will probably confirm this.
But be warned about the 0.2 gap up from the last trade before 4.pm to the last trade during auction.
Moves during auction - with spec miners & oilers at least, often occur, but only of 1 pip, and thus no gap.
IMO the brokers do this deliberately - to delude investors into FOMO-buying on Open the next morning, soon after which the brokers sell into the deluded demand so as to buy back at below the closing price at auction the previous day. Any others have a contrary viewpoint? or am I right?
