Has anyone mentioned to the pest yet that MAY could potentially use Enhanced oil recovery methods to extract up to 60% of the oil in place in Amistad? Yep! 1.14 billion barrels recovered from 1.9 billion. Melbana 30% share 342 000 million barrels.
Actually CUPET drilled this reservoir previously in the 1980,s and achieved oil shows over a 850meter gross interval at 24 API. A much lighter oil than historically produced in Cuba.It was revisited in 2000 when visible oil shows on surface where sampled and tested at 32 and 38API.No idea why CUPET did not exploit this resource back then? They certainly knew it existed. Possibly oil production at that time adequately met their needs. Don't know
