Melbana & Sonangol are companies which are based outside of both China & Russia, nor are they an enemy of the USA. We have no direct alliance with either 3 countries. That is a very positive thing for MAY share holders.
Without a doubt, the tussle for Cuba will be an interesting one. Will China invest heavily into Cuba, Will USA extend olive branches to Cuba. Will USA do a back room deal with China over Cuba which also involves others countries i.e. Taiwan... Whatever the tactical games occur in the coming years will be what it will be, but the outcomes will only benefit the JV not hinder it IMO.
Importantly, the JV is seen as a non threatening entity which is drilling oil in Cuba and by years end and will potentially announce a oil discovery of global significance. Then it will be game on.
Are we there yet.....
