Our friend has been around the block a few times like your good self and me, has listened to the media with their slavish devotion to Rule No. 1 of news & a current affairs programs - bad news, pain, horror, calamities, sport and really really bad news sells (and a fluffy good vibe to finish off before the weather)!

The MMCC is definitely plausible and the horror stories back in the 80’ - 90’s were quite convincing and once some people accept something as true/fact it is very hard to change that view.

Nothing wrong with that but some of us have been jaded over time with the inconsistent claims of the 4 horsemen on the horizon, they seem to be on our doorstep one minute and then back to being 10-20 years away again, as the polar bears, ice caps, islands and such fail to disappear.

I don’t feel sad for those people, they have the right to believe and worry about our climate just as we have the right to worry about the potential issues that may arise from fighting climate change.

Science isn’t about what we know, it is about what we want to know.
If we know everything, there’s no need for the pursuit of scientific knowledge.
