Also bellcurve you have entirely failed to address the equally rapid cooling before 1960 that occurred to that of post 1960 if you want a narrow focus of a few decades only. However for those that look at climate properly over thousands of years we remain in a long term cooling trend. Eg Minoan warming, Roman warming and medieval warming ALL warmer temps than we have now on average.
