The ASX are moving to ensure public listed companies have a fairer gender breadown:Since women bring a diferrent perspecive to boards- and see different aspects to men, they would complement men's skills and hence yield a better outcome.
A bit like "it's better to select the best person for the job from the whole of the population rather than just half!"

--- the ASX Corporate Governance Council issued a policy on Monday 8 December that would require boards to set "measurable objectives relating to gender".

The action included recommendations that companies adopt diversity policies that include “measurable milestones”, that they have greater transparency in board selections.


The Australian Institute of Company Directors issued a press release two weeks ago headed “AICD takes action on board diversity”.

They have given the 'blokes' five years to get their act together and open up the 'club'.More than 9 in every 10 directors on ASX listed companies are men.

ALAN KOHLER concluded: "The problem is not that there aren’t enough women – of course there are".
