50 percent to profit is a completely arbitary number given it doesn't take into consideration the dynamics of probability of move, subsequent investment size for each placement, magnitude of move, risk management, adding to a position, term of trade/investment, exit strategy, etc. Its not a 1 for 1 proposition that requires 50+ accuracy for profit realisation - its slightly more sophisticated selection process than you suggest.
