Most government employees are immune to the cost of living and go on blissfully un-aware of the conditions under which a lot of people are living.
Your quote I've noticed there are many places, (except inner city melbourne,sydney and perth). where established houses sell for less then the cost of building a new house.
When you consider the time and hassle take to purchase land and build on it this doesn't make a lot of sense.
What does this mean other than the costs of new houses are far in excess of what they should be and if the governments reduced their exorbitant taxes they would be more affordable
