Mbalam iron ore: Exploitation phase to begin soon

There is good news from Mbalam. Experts deployed to measure the viability of the project are unequivocal; the project is capable of improving upon the economic health of Cameroon.
With an annual production of 35 million tons of iron ore Cameroon shall be amongst the ten largest exporters of iron ore in the world.
The project is being spearheaded by an Australian company Sundance Resources Limited through its Cameroon based associate, Cam Iron.
George Jones, the Chairman of Sundance Limited met with the Minister of Mines and Technological Development, Emmanuel Bonde to continue with discussions in view of the issuance of an exploitation permit.
In the meantime, legal, financial and mining experts are being recruited to ensure a mutually beneficial partnership.
Apart from the thousands of jobs to be created, the Mbalam iron ore project shall be accompanied by the construction of a railway terminal from Mbalam to the Kribi Deep sea port.
The railway terminal is amongst many development projects earmarked to accompany the exploitation phase.
