The results in this small (16 patients) trial to establish if the drug is active, safe and tolerated indicate that it is all three. As far as this type of trial goes (over 2 weeks), the result is, in my opinion, very satisfactory. The trial was never to establish any degree of efficacy...that comes in a much larger trial with larger numbers of patients over a longer period early next year.
What I don't get is the apparent disapointment in the market. They (MBO) are upfront in their presentation of the results and what they mean.
I have had some experience in pharmaceutical marketing/clinical trials and on that basis this is only my opinion. It is always true in these matters that from test tube to marketplace takes a long time and is full of difficulties.
