A buyer of the asset would not have to the cover the same corporate overheads, so these are not relevant for the purpose of determining a value on sale of the asset to another party. Previous capital costs are also not relevant to an incoming buyer. Only the operating costs and the valuation of remaining reserves are relevant to a potential buyer.
