Moon, agree with you, but I truly believe that many aspiring MP's get a guernsey then rush in with the best intentions...they quickly realise that standing up and telling the truth will get you no where except the back bench.
We desperately need some new blood in parliament who are prepared to advocate for their constituents and vote for what they believe in, not what they are told to vote for.
That will never happen unfortunately, when as a Labor Party member to not tow the line is an offense punishable by banshment from the party, one is not allowed to disagree or question their Right Honerable Fellow member. Bill Shorten...I agree with what ever she said...
"Gilding the Lily" as Keating would say, has become an art, not answering the question and glossing over the facts seem to be the order of the day.
Unfortunately, when you get the likes of Labor's Peter Beatty decreeing that lying in parliament is not an offense....but rather a priveledge, then why would any MP consider telling a lie a bad thing? Take the Prime Minister as a perfect example...
