I fully agree with your comments. For example, McKim persisted with with questions regarding ROE. However, he did not seem to understand the basic fundamentals of ROE- e.g no reference to debt ratios and the related affect of debt on ROE; no understanding of historical cost on ROE comparisons; no questions regarding goodwill, not shown on the balance sheet, etc.
The CEO of Coles explained many of the limitations of ROE comparisons, to McKim. However, Mckim did not seem to understand or chose not to acknowledge the limitations - instead he asked irrelevant questions - e.g did the CEO receive a Coles discount on groceries ?
