Airleg miner wages vary with location, experiance the particular job and any other thing you'd like to add in LOL
Average around Vic from what I can figure is mid $40 to $70 odd p/hr but some get more a good airlegger should get more than a good jumbo operator,, IMAO (but I can see people throwing things at me now) LOL
Contract airleggers get paid by the metre advanced and the offsider gets 50-80% of the miners wage, but that was a while ago, so things may have changed.
No in Vic you don't need a mine Manager ,,, you need to nominate a competent person,,,, yes it can be anyone and no-one in any department will knock ya back,,, but note competent,,,, a coroners investigation will be expecting a competent person WITH experiance in that particular type of mine and mining methods,,,(who gives a rats if you know all about open cuts when your responsible for an underground mine utilizing shaft haulage?) this would show duty of care on behalf of the directors and help ensure that in the event of an accident they dont end up sharing a cell with a bloke called bubba LOL but more importantly could have avoided an incident.
