It was about getting a Californian specialist biotech investment fund called Biotechnology Value Fund onto the share register. BVF have a couple of other (non-competing) investments in Australia.
They hold long term, they don't day trade.
Once BVF is on, other institutions may want to follow, e.g. ethical funds.
Not everyone agreed with this suggestion.
