I had decided to shut up today (not to wither the tender shoots) - unless I saw some outrageous statement.

No such luck, so here we go.

Come off it! I don't know what definition you use of a defensive stock, but it doesn't agree with customary usage.

For example:

"Definition of 'Defensive Stock'
A stock that provides a constant dividend and stable earnings regardless of the state of the overall stock market."

The only part of this definition that fits GCN is stable earnings. Problem is that they have been stable at virtually zilch over the years.
