the once in a generation vix spike
is not necessarily a 'once off'...

if you look at the current longer term
cycles on the DJIA and the vix
u can see 'alternation' in corrective
patterns as well as sharp spike upward
moves...

the huge spike can more than be justified
as the DJIA corrects after a longer term
cycle peak but forms differently than
the previous longer term cycle...

by the way i prefer highlighting cycles
from a major low to the next low as u
can clearly see impulsive / corrective
moves which gives a 'better' picture...
