I would love to know how much the percieved or real sovereign risk factor demonstrated by the MLA govt review of operations into LYC played a part in that decision.
Not surprisingly, it was not mentioned specifically in the ARU release. The bolded line below suggests that they have at least been diligently watching the saga unfold.
Arafura had previously planned for the Separation Plant to be located offshore. However, process andconfiguration efficiencies identified through the project’s Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) andArafura’s extensive testwork and flowsheet piloting programs have made the relocation of theSeparation Plant to the Nolans site more feasible. The decision will also mitigate some of the project’soperational risks.
