@pintohooI know what you're saying but if we had to choose we should take the path of the non-autocratic, assuming that still includes the US on Jan20.
I can't help but think that the growing impulse for autocracy in the West is a response to welcoming an autocratic China into our 'family'. Imagine if we had done that with Hitler. Politicians like Menzies and businessmen like Henry Ford were quite impressed by their ability to get things done. We are imitators.
Better to be a bit poorer and maintain democratic integrity even if it is a little passé these days.
