Correct. There is no longer absolute Left or Right in the 21st century.

Every country, including fascist countries offer a mixture of both.

If we in Australia, adopted pure capitalism, most of these fools who bitching and whining about the left ideology, would be working 18 hours a day for a dollar an hour or begging on the streets for scraps. They take for granted that we offer free hospitals, free education, free pension, free unemployment benefits, etc etc etc.

Ironically, China have moved from pure communism to a mixture of communism/capitalism. They also found out their system can not survive if it stayed in its pure form of communism.

What many on this forum can't handle is seeing China rise from an agrarian society, which suffered from bouts of famines, to an economic super power, within a generation.

And tinged by their own xenophobic fear, they see it as a threat to their way of life.

Of course, most of these are old fools who are benefiting from the communist ideologies such as the free "pension" and free "hospital services".

As to China: yes, I believe China will be more assertive (economically) as it become the dominant economic power. That's what happened when the US became the only economic super power. But being assertive economically is Not the same as a military threat or invasion.

The simple fact is China don't spend that much in military when compared to the US (most of Chinese Gov expenditure is on building infrastructures to make their economy more competitive). China's military equipment are at least 20 years behind anything we have in the West. It will take them about 30 years to catch up.

They only have 2 functioning overseas bases whilst the US have over 800. Lol...even we have 2 military bases overseas. None of their bases are located near our country, Europe or the US (unless you count Djibouti and Argentina as close).

And the Chinese have one functioning aircraft carrier; the same number as our country.

But reading from these forums, you would think we are under imminent threat...Lol.

Making a mountain out of a mould hill comes to mind.
