I think the US's demise has been called prematurely. If it can adapt from here and responds to the rise of Trump with a turn towards a more pure democracy and incorporates the features of successful social democracies, it has a long way to run and will astound.
Social democracies unlock human potential which the US has in abundance but are now unable to thrive.
