Conflict wouldn't lower oil price in this case because supply would be disrupted.
But I have long accepted this statement as fact:
Remember, the goal isn’t to have the most consistent returns. The goal is to have the biggest returns and let them compound overtime. That is how the world’s richest billionaire investors became billionaires.
I had a similar statement from the Super consultant. High risk investment means accepting that some years you may be down a lot but overall when looking over a larger timeframe you'll make more.
Not everyone is comfortable with that investment strategy so it's not for everyone. We've seen those posters. They mope and groan the stock is not consistently going up. They sell out and still mope and groan after leaving FAR. They will probably be moping and groaning on their latest investments in a years time if their timing is wrong there also.
