To be honest, I have never heard of it, which is surprising considering my Black Shack days growing up, no power etc. Kero would be short for kerosene. So maybe it is some sort of kero burner for cooking on?
In the old days, when our kitchen fire, oven, hot plate wasn't on, we would use what I think was a metho burner. Small frame which the black pot (lol) would sit on and underneath was the likes of a small bake bean tin with mentholated spirits in it. It would give off what I would call a soft blue flame. You could also place the frying pan on it, fried eggs etc.
Before ours packed up, the irons heating method back then was a shellite (?) fuel heating inside it. Latter years we would just place it on the fire hot plate. ------------------ As for being afraid, I did notice a similar message elsewhere of yours. Imo, there would be absolutely no need to be, most Definitely not from me and I feel I could safely speak for the rest.
Isn't it rather sad, as kids we would get in a tiff with a best mate at school, never going to play with each other again, and the next day their buddies again Lol, us clowns complicate it all eh lol. Lets bring the child in us out. ---------------- Garage sale..............I have not checked, but are there some places that buy second goods, so you can avoid a garage sale?
