Huge night on the CME for the meat commodities. Its quite significant what is happening here because it means that we are at the foot of a boom (and a painful one at that for consumers) in animal proteins. Milk components have been surging for nearly 2 years now but it is now time for the meats to rise.

When you consider meat is the most energy intensive, the most water intensive, the most labour intensive and the most grain cost intensive bulk food commodity to produce, the consumption of meat must be rationed in this increasingly resource constrained world.
