I know a few pharmacists here in Oz that aporeciate the functionality of the app to contact clients to tell them their drugs are ready for pickup etc but are not too keen as they dont want an app as the primary source of contact/knowledge for the patient (ie they want to maintain the patient interaction with them directly to enae them to se other products & services rather than the patient relying on the app wholly in case the patient feels like the pharmacists & pharmacy is secondary & which one you visit doesnt matter).
I can perhaps see this more on the US where it's less a family pharmacy & more seen as chains, but my sense is that in the US it's more as an advertising channel more than anything else
