Do you really think the call for volunteers to help with the clean-up today would have got a response so large that some had to be told to go home if it wasn't for the media showing the rest of us what had happened to hundreds of our community?
So perhaps the media, running a 24 hour coverage on the ongoing disaster, repeated itself at times. Do you think then that would have even be noticed by those many people who only turned the TV on for some short period each day?
Do you begrudge the very few benefits that those many people devastated by the flood might have gained as a result of the full-on media coverage?
The media has played/is playing a big role in repairing the damage caused by this catastrophe.
