I seriously thought that too for a bit but looking at Itochu’s 2019 annual report there is no mention of lithium when they speak of their direction in regards metals and minerals.
As part of their ‘reinvention’ of their business however they are looking at storage batteries and also recycling batteries (see page 69)
.....which leaves (in my swag of WAGs) Tesla, Rio and Fortescue...... (Australian would be good!)
Or maybe, as part of an unexpected consolidation, it will join up with Ganfeng?

I don’t know but am hoping the mystery will be solved by next week ?

As an aside - given the fact the current lenders were flagged as potential AJM refinancers early last December (?) and given the fact it is very unlikely the Tianqi sell off decision just happened ‘out of the blue’ , I did wonder the other day if the incredibly long suspension from trading at AJM from January 13 to March 6 had anything to do with what was going on at Greenbushes.
