It gives the ability to enter the market and bill Chinese consumers without needing to expand the m-payments network into the region, spend time establishing the necessary carrier relationships, or incur any 'hole in the boat' costs related to these items. I agree that it doesn't necessarily mean the company will suddenly start printing money, but at the same time, it's a very low cost entry into a very large market that is highly engaged in the mobile space. From this perspective, the decision to partner with SMA is probably a wise one given that they are sacrificing margin for far lower overheads of the kind you're discussing.
