No early settlement and no reopening of the mine so better change the thread.
Minister Suriya reported that four recommendations went to Cabinet:
1. Pay Akara in full and close the mine
2. Proceed with Akara's offer
3. Hold out for the arbitration hearing outcome
4. Partial compensation and allow the mine to reopen
Cabinet was of the view that they shouldn't reopen the mine after deciding to close it but were unable to reach a decision on the way forward. Lung Tuu asked for more time to consider the matter but accepts responsibility for any outcome. Anupong Paochinda, Minister of Interior, was of the view that the matter should go to arbitration. Somkid Jatusripitak, one of the Deputy Prime Ministers, had no idea and asked for the view of others.
