Funding for preschool programme comes under the Universal Access Agreement where the federal government contributes one third of the cost of the preschool programme and the states pick up two thirds. In G8's case additional payment (with conditions attached which I won't bore investors with) for children in the year before school.
IMO this will be the final year of federal funding for the preschool programme, the government has indicated ending the funding deal with the states once the new Childcare reforms are introduced in July 2018.
