Not getting a journalist interested should not be the end of the story. Just write a Press Release.
Often the very purpose of a Press Release is to generate a bit of low level coverage of something that isn't newsworthy enough to make the papers. It gets picked up on the internet by various sites that trawl through and replicate them.
The award is not earthshattering news, but taking every opportunity to boast of even relatively modest achievements seems worthwhile for OBJ and it's shareholders.
On the coincidence of a slow news day, they sometimes get fluffed up into a puff-piece by papers always needing to fill column inches.
OBJ sticks a bit of extra detail in it - little Aussie-battler, American behemoth, blah, blah blah, million sales passed, new deal coming...OBJ, the little innovative Aussie powerhouse that could...China, Amazon, US release, etc.
We don't lose anything by doing it and sometimes a nugget just takes off.
No need to be shy about our achievements and potential. The habit of corporate modesty ought to be shaken off.
