Natural graphite batteries have higher range, although suffers from lower life cycle. Although with all the new research, they may well find a way overcome that.
EV research is always evolving.
I think there is a trend for cheaper EV cars for the masses. Right now, the only way to increase penetration to the public is to lower the vehicle costs. And Natural graphite is available right now.
