For the record, Balama has never reached full production. The 163kt it sold last year is just less than half its capacity of 350ktpa
The last time the DOE gave a loan to a company which went bust, they shut down the program for a decade until Biden resurrected it a couple of years ago. The US is very sensitive about not doing it again.
