Thinking the " highly sensitive " items are quite likely to include spherical. At the very least the message to the rest of the world is fairly clear, if you don't have an alternative supply chain for some of the raw products you require, you might be in a bit of trouble!
The hurry along for the US is immense.
Been discussed before, not all graphite is suitable for further refinement into stuff like spherical. Peers are years behind in having any capacity to even mine. Years to qualify the product once you have the ability to produce commercial scale. Forget about things like AAM plants in the US.
This may not be the catalyst to turn the corner, but for me its a good enough reason to have bottom drawered some more.
The shorts may still have ultimate control, and might just be me, but the message that is being sent by the Chinese authorities has long term ramifications for potentially a lot of minerals. Scary stuff!
If prices turn up, buying shorts back may not be so easy!!
